SUMMARY

Load and offload wheels from conveyors. Inspect wheels for defects. Scan and palletize wheels. 3000-4000 per-shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, including every other weekend

Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment

Load and install valve plugs into wheels and on to conveyors

Scan and inspect wheels for defects.

Offload wheels from conveyors to pallets.

Install masking into wheels before powder application

Cleans area as needed as instructed by Supervisor or Shift Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or high school certificate of completion; three to six months related manufacturing experience and training preferred; it takes one month for the operator to become proficient on this job.  Ideally, the candidate has experience in other paint-related areas; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Reads operator instruction sheets; discusses problems with supervision.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Deals with whole numbers; add, subtract, multiply, and divide; calculate percentages and ratios.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.  Operation is standardized with a few concrete variables that must be observed and responded to during the normal operation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, approximately 3000-4000 wheels (up to 45 lbs) per shift.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/ or humid conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
